God’s Feral Felines is a non profit 501(c)(3) TNR (trap, neuter, and return) organization. Our focus is feral cats (sometimes referred to as community cats) in the Marshall County, AL area. We started trapping on October 15, 2013 and applied for non profit status December 31, 2013.
When GFF was started our goal was to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats by humanely trapping, neutering and vaccinating feral cat colonies.
Very quickly we realized that many of the free roaming cats are not feral behaving yet produce hundreds of kittens with the potential to grow up feral. To meet this need our organization expanded to include working with stray and abandoned colonies. The reality is that un-owned tame cats that are not neutered or spayed will produce feral cats.
Our priority remains feral cat colonies in public places. However the need to work with abandoned, stray cat colonies even if they are not feral acting is clear.
This expanded agenda continues our initial desire to help feral cats in public places but also works toward feral cat prevention.
We currently trap in Boaz, Sardis City, Guntersville, Scant City, Grant and Albertville.
